Your marquee supplier should survey the site and advise on the best position. Access for installation, the level of the ground and any obstacles can all affect the final setup.

Trees, ponds and other garden features do not always rule out a marquee. In some cases they can even be incorporated into the design.

Plan Your Tables & Seating

Decide whether you prefer round dining tables, long banquet-style trestle tables or a combination of both. Your choice will affect the overall look of the marquee and how much room is required.

Wedding chairs can also change the feel of the space completely, from relaxed and rustic to elegant and formal.

Choose Your Linen & Tableware

Once your tables are selected, choose tablecloths, napkins, crockery, cutlery and glassware to create the look you want.

Create a Practical Bar Area

Allow enough space for the bar itself as well as refrigeration, glassware, ice, mixers, storage and staff working behind the counter.

Position the bar somewhere accessible without disrupting the main route between dining tables, entrances and the dancefloor.

Allow Space for the Dancefloor

Your dancefloor, DJ, band or stage will need to be included in the marquee layout from the beginning rather than added once the dining plan is complete.

You may also want lounge furniture nearby to create a more relaxed space for guests later in the evening.
